Nancy Palmgreen

Every Saturday, May 7 - July 2

Nancy Palmgreen started her first native only garden at her condo in Amherst in the 1980’s. Today, she still grows native only plants in Conway, and sews pillows from vintage material in the winter.

Nancy Palmgreen started her first native only garden at her condo in Amherst in the 1980’s. In 2012 she moved to Conway and brought her plants. There, she found many others in her new back yard near the Bear River and Pea Brook in Conway. She has been collecting seeds and propagating plants since then. While the plants sleep during the winter, she makes pillows from vintage materials with her 1954 Singer sewing machine.

Stop by her booth to find native shade plants such as Bloodroot, American Ginger, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, False Solomon’s Seal, Cranesbill, Sundrops, New England Aster, Mayapple, Columbine, Virgin’s Bower, Wild Cucumber, Wild Cucumber Root, Solomon’s Seal, Hostas, Iris, local sunflower, (not all available in first few weeks of the season). Stop by the booth for pillows made from vintage materials including oriental rugs, saddlebag’s, and leather.
